Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 2026
1. Information We Collect
What Time Is It is designed with privacy in mind. We do not require you to create an account or provide personal information to use the Service. Your browser's timezone is detected locally using the standard Intl.DateTimeFormat API — this data never leaves your device. We may collect anonymised, aggregated analytics data (such as page views and general geographic region) to help us improve the Service.
2. Cookies and Local Storage
We use localStorage (not cookies) to save your preferences — specifically your chosen time format (12h or 24h) and dark/light mode setting. This data is stored entirely on your own device and is never transmitted to our servers. You can clear it at any time by clearing your browser's site data.
3. Third-Party Services
We use flagcdn.com to serve country flag images. When your browser loads a flag image, your IP address may be visible to flagcdn.com as part of the standard HTTP request. We do not share any personal data with flagcdn.com. We may also use a privacy-respecting analytics service (such as Umami) that does not use cookies and does not track individuals across sites.
4. Data Retention
Because we do not collect personal data, there is no personal data to retain or delete. Anonymised analytics data (if collected) is retained for up to 12 months and then permanently deleted.
5. Children's Privacy
The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will promptly delete it.
6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.
